Detoxification – Tips on how to feel healthy, happy and whole

March 18th, 2010 by superjumpz

As I drove to DC for Thanksgiving, I heard a CD book "Heal Yourself: Health and Longevity by Queen Afua. After listening to the CD a few times reminded me of the importance of a healthy diet and detoxification . I am a very discerning eater. Eat Drink no cheese, no milk and rarely eat meat. However, I make a mean vegetarian wrap with fresh bruschetta dressing room. Anyway, the point is, they tend to eat pretty healthy, and becauseI do not drink alcohol, I too often reward me with candy.

Chocolate is my happy place … sad but true. So, after listening to the CD Queen Afua time and time again I was really almost defeats the purpose of the green with a green salad for lunch, when I was rewarded with a box of sweets for dessert for the price. I realized that it would be beneficial for me to express my "guided" Can I do something "attitude towards my health, just as I do with my business.

Sometimes I feelPeople say, 'Oh, there are many things that help bad for us, and we can not do everything. " I agree, but we can be on our part, what we do in our body and are ready to take small steps to improve nutrition awareness.

Detox is short for detoxification, and includes the elimination of toxins from the blood. The human body has a natural function of detoxification by the liver, kidneys and lower gastrointestinal tract. We are constantly exposed to thousands of toxinsand chemicals on a daily basis for the air we breathe, the food, or our water supply. Diets high in processed foods, sugars and unhealthy fats can cause the body's natural detoxification to ensure that progress is slow.

Toxins can cause:
Bloating, abdominal pain, constipation, chronic fatigue, acid reflux, skin and hair problems, parasites, insomnia, diseases, and much more.

Detoxing can cause:
Your body will digest food, as it should be, you feel healthier and moremore alive. Detoxification can also help with weight loss.

HOW TO DETOX:
o If you change your eating habits in healthy subjects
Use clean, or herbs, teas
O aka colon hydrotherapy colon cleansing
O Exercise

Warning:

These methods are great just before the start of the process of detoxification of the body naturally. Now that all the garbage will be released by the body during this process, can cause side effects. There is only one part of the process always clean. It isimportant for your research and talk to your doctor before beginning this process. The doctor is his state of health conscious and like it or not interfere with medications you might already here. Please note that if the doctor is not a big fan of "natural" methods of detoxification and what you want, then you might want to have a holistic holistic therapists in your area or search for more information.

Personally, I try to drink lots of water, food, fiber cookies, addFlaxseed in most of the dishes, cook, and try a sort of Veggie everyday, even if it is to eat a small portion.

Stay lifted,
Ally

Have recently undergone tests of your blood sugar levels? When the monitor received a reading of 70, but no more than 126 mg / dL, you are in an area that is classified as normal glucose levels from the American Diabetes Association. Unfortunately, more than nineteen million Americans a year to the end of the metabolic disorder is diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. Triple numbers and now have a rough estimate of the resulting medical condition called pre-diabetes, which refershigh levels of blood sugar between 100 to 126 mg / dl. Rather disturbing, eh? The typical American diet is the main culprit of the whole. This is the reason why pre-diabetics and diabetics was enthusiastically encouraged to have increased omega-3 to accommodate a part of any diet change agenda to combat and prevent diabetes. The same can not be said of eating habits of today, when saturatedFats conscious control over all their fat intake has taken to overcome the ideal proportion of 30% and omega-3 intake was significantly reduced. Excessive fat deposits may remain with the body, the precursor of cardiovascular disease and insulin resistance, with the latter, due to the onset of diabetes mellitus. Healing Sciatica With Herbal Remedies

March 12th, 2010 by superjumpz

Image : http://www.flickr.com

If you have been experiencing recurring pains at the lower back, do not be complacent about it and immediately seek medical counsel. The pain may already be a symptom of sciatica, or a complication of the sciatic nerve (the longest and widest peripheral nerve in the body). The triggers to such a disorder may be attributed to age factor, occupational hazards, physical trauma and even diabetes. Consequently, the mentioned factors can cause the sciatic nerve to be compressed to thus cause pain and nervine complications.

The danger of not addressing sciatica immediately with proper treatments is the risk of intense pain and immobility, usually on one side of the body. Furthermore, sciatica could adversely affect bowel movement and bladder functioning. Treatment should be administered immediately by way of physical therapy, advised self-care or surgery in more serious conditions of sciatica. Incidentally, medical authorities are recognizing the potential of alternative medicine to treat this disorder that has in fact for many years conveyed natural solutions to the manifest of body pain.

The herb Pepperwood (also known as Hercules’ Club and Prickly Ash) has been found to produce anti-inflammatory benefits relevant to the treatment of sciatica. Scientific studies reveal the herb’s ability to reinforce immune system functions while easing related pain that comes about with this immuno-suppressive disorder. Its constituents are usually administered for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis with both conditions relaying similar symptoms. Traditionally, Pepperwood is prepared as a stimulant or tonic to strengthen the mucous tissues affected by sciatica. Moreover, it acts as soothing circulatory tonic in case the disorder has progressed to affect bowel movement.

Another herb that can help relieve sciatica is Burdock (Arctium lappa). Its roots are commonly used in drugs for rheumatic infections. Like Pepperwood, Burdock eases inflammation while toning the circulatory system. If sciatica manifests as an offshoot of diabetes, Burdock exudes hypoglycemic properties that can lower blood sugar levels. Infusions of the herb have been used to therapeutically heal nervous system disorders and ease joint pains as well. Historical records reveal the use of Burdock seed with wine in the treatment of sciatica.

Meanwhile, the herb Devil’s Claw (Harpagophytum Procumbens) is extensively cultivated as a medicinal plant due to its various healing properties. Just like the two herbals mentioned, Devil’s Claw is recognized as an alternative cure for sciatica in line with its anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, and diuretic properties. While found effective like cortisone, side-effects have been observed to be from minimal to none. As a nervous system tonic, the herb supports healing by addressing lower back pain. Herbal remedies formulated to ease sciatic pain utilize the herb’s constituents as therapeutic ingredient to promote the relief of underlying disorders such as diabetes and blood diseases.

Nervous system disorders such as sciatica affect the body in a lot of different ways with the condition being caused by diverse factors. Similarly, diagnosis and prescribed treatments may vary. But if you’re looking for a remedy that offers an all-around cure for the many, underlying causes of sciatica without undermining unaffected organs with the risk of side-effects, standardized herbal supplements such as SciatiGon have been concocted by herbalist to provide an integrative package of medicinal benefits to effectively address sciatica. Indeed, going holistic is one effective way of treating sciatic pain and underlying systemic disorders.

The Truth About Fish Oil vs Flax Seed Oil

March 11th, 2010 by superjumpz

Fish Oil vs Flax Seed Oil

The fish oil vs flax seed oil debate continues among health supplement providers. Some say that flax oil is better. Others say a fish oil dietary supplement is best. No one denies that they both contain omega-3 fatty acids which are essential to many systems, organs and tissues of the human body. The flax oil vs fish oil conflict concerns which omega-3 is best and why.

Most current scientific study involves the benefits of certain omega-3 fatty acids to heart and brain health. The omega-3s used in these studies are DHA and EPA. These are found in a high quality fish oil dietary supplement. Flax oil contains an omega-3 called ALA and other fatty acids. The benefits of flax oil and fish oil are somewhat different and each can be beneficial, but for different reasons.

Flax oil vs fish oil

However, for heart health, a fish oil dietary supplement is recommended by most medical experts and naturopathic practitioners. ALA needs to be converted to DHA and EPA in the body….and this conversion does not always take place, especially for people who are in less than optimal health. This would include many elderly folks. On the other hand, if you’re in good health flax seed ALA may be converted by the body to DHA and EPA.

Thus, when the heart is concerned in the flax oil vs fish oil debate, fish oil wins in our opinion since you can get the crucial DHA and EPA directly through a quality fish oil. For brain health and symptoms like depression, a fish oil dietary supplement is recommended for much the same reasons.

The brain needs large amounts of DHA, but if the body needs the ALA for some other reason, it may not ever be converted to DHA.

So, when the brain is discussed in the fish oil vs flax seed oil debate, fish oil wins again.

Having said all of this, some people prefer flax oil over fish oil for various reasons. For example, strict vegetarians must supplement their diet with some type of omega-3, but will not take a fish oil dietary supplement.

Flax seed oil may help to alleviate hot flashes in menopausal women. It would be nice if there were one supplement that did everything for everyone, but there is no such supplement.
